Overview
  • Recently we had an experience on a CSIR networked project (2003-07) "Predictive Medicine using Repeat and Single Nucleotide Polymorphism." Objective was to develop database on the status of "SNPs" and Repeat Polymorphism in the selected gene GSTM1 amongst Indian population and its association with disease.

  • Present work on Genetic polymorphism in metabolizing enzyme genes of control and diseased population and their association with the diseases. Studies are being conducted on GST polymorphism in Breast cancer & Gastric cancer patients in collaboration with SGPGIMS & in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia patients with CSMMU (KGMU), Lucknow respectively.

  • Training students from different universities such as Bundelkhand Univ., Amity Univ., Allahabad Agricultural institute Deemed Univ. Allahabad, APS Univ. Rewa, C.S.J.M. Univ. Kanpur, Gorakhpur Univ., & Meerut Univ. These students were given hands on Nucleic acid isolation, PCR, & RFLP, etc.

  Major activities:
  • Genotyping analysis in case control studies in particular cancer.

  • Cardiovascular studies in animals exposed to toxic compounds
