  • Effects of ultraviolet radiation and sunlight on biomolecules/xenobiotics with particular emphasis to DNA damage, oxidative stress determination and photdegradation study of chemicals. Use of various biological or chemical quenchers/antioxidants. Phototoxicity assessment and its mechanism of action of commonly used drugs and cosmetics.

  • Development of simple and new test models (as alternate to animal models) using Zooplanktons, human skin cell lines, other cell lines like mouse fibroblast (L929), murine fibroblast 3T3 and primary cell culture for phototoxicity evaluation
