Research Achievements:
Demonstrated that dermal exposure of hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) could alter testicular enzymes, decrease serum testosterone and abnormal sperm morphology and activity resulting in adverse effects on reproductive functions of mammals exposed to this pesticide. Possible damaging potential of HCH was indicated by the inhibition of testicular plasma membrane bound enzymes.

Oral exposure studies on carbofuran as well as carbaryl a broad spectrum, long lasting insecticides provided first hand information on the reproductive toxicity of these xenobiotics.

Study on acrolein, one of the most toxic alkenal revealed that even its low concentrations inhibit proteins of the liver plasma membrane and appears to be the major cause of its toxicity.

Investigations on Ancylostoma ceylanicum, a human hookworm revealed that significant inhibition of liver plasma membrane bound enzymes leading to changes in structural and functional organization of membrane may be the cause of hepatotoxic manifestations.

Demonstrated in vivo effects of Dibutyltin dichloride(DBT),that could alter liver plasma membrane bound enzymes and lipids.
